Do you have wide-set eyes like me?
Research says that people with wide-set eyes tend to look younger and more attractive. I’m not sure about all that, but I do know that there are makeup techniques that can enhance wide-set eyes (while making them look more balanced with the rest of your beautiful face).
Here are some tips for wide-set eyes (view as infographic):
STEP 1: Starting at the inside corner of the lid, apply eyeliner, tapering it towards the outside corners of the eyes (if you apply liner below the eye, follow this same technique)
STEP 2: Apply a neutral eyeshadow (your lightest color shadow) across the entire eyelid and underneath the eye
STEP 3: Apply a medium eyeshadow to the outside corner of the eyelid (in a slight V shape) and extend underneath the eye
STEP 4: Apply a medium-to-dark eyeshadow to the inside corner of the eyelid and extend upwards into the eyelid crease, stopping when you are about halfway across the lid
STEP 5: Blend out your shadows using a blending brush (blend more for a subtle, more natural effect; blend less to keep your look dramatic)
STEP 6: Apply your mascara more heavily on the lashes at the inner corners of the eye. Use more or less mascara depending on your desired effect
STEP 7: Additionally, you can fill in your brows so that they extend further inward. A thicker brow at the inside corners tapered toward the outside is best for wide-set eyes
Remember, when you get your brows shaped, make sure to let your Esthetician know you want them shaped in such a way as to balance out your wide-set eyes. A good Esthetician should know how to do this!
